Early Dismisal Today, Many Events Cancelled.

We will dismiss at 1:15 today. The following note is from our Athletic Director regarding events this evening:All Athletic events & practices have been cancelled for the evening. Please make the proper notifications. Be careful on the way home. Scheduled events for this evening were: Varsity Coed Swimming & Diving @ Western Freshmen Boys’ Basketball game @ Rensselaer 7th & 8th Grade Boys’ Basketball games vs. East Tipp No practices for the following teams: Varsity, JV, Freshmen Boys’ Basketball Varsity & JV Girls’ Basketball Varsity Wrestling Cheerleaders Coed Varsity Swimming & Diving Middle School Boys’ Basketball Middle School Girls’ Basketball Middle School Wrestling all other school teams

Also, the 6th Grade Boys’ Basketball tournament @ Delphi on Saturday, January 9th, has been cancelled.

Breakfast with Santa

Twin Lakes High School Freshmen Mentoring Program and the PRIDE Program are combining efforts to have a “Breakfast with Santa” from 8:00 – 11:00 on Saturday, December 5, 2009 in the high school cafeteria. The breakfast will consist of two pancakes, two sausages, and milk or juice.

Cost of tickets are $5.00.

Child ticket includes breakfast and picture.
Adult ticket includes breakfast.

There will be a Christmas Story read every half hour in the high school media center:
8:00 The Night Before Christmas
8:30 The Night Before – the Night Before Christmas
9:00 Snow Happy to Be Here!
9:30 The Christmas Story
10:00 The Polar Express
10:30 How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Pictures will be available following the Christmas Parade in the Twin Lakes High School Main Office on Saturday, December 5, 2009.

Ticket sales will take place November 9 – November 25, 2009. Students may order tickets through the elementary schools: Meadowlawn, Eastlawn, Oaklawn, and Woodlawn, now through November 25. Tickets will be distributed to elementary students the following week of receiving their order. There will be a limited number of tickets available on December 5, 2009 to purchase. Tickets are also available in the Twin Lakes High School Main Office. This is the first time we have done this type of fund raiser so we do not know how many people to expect.

Everyone needs a ticket. Tickets for children under two years of age are free.

Fall Play Tickets Available

             The Twin Lakes High School Theatre is proud to announce its upcoming production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. This holiday favorite will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 13, and Saturday, November 14, in the Twin Lakes High School auditorium. Tickets are now on sale and may be purchased from DiAnn Adams at the high school career lab or by calling (574) 583-7108, ext. 2326. Reserved seating is $5 and premium reserved seating is $6.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Twin Lakes High School will be hosting Parent – Teacher Conference Sessions on Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27, 2009.  Times for the conferences will be 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM on both days.
 
These sessions will be open forum in the Twin Lakes High School Auxiliary Gymnasium.  There is no appointment necessary.
 
We encourage all parents/guardians to visit with their students teacher to establish a good positive home to school partnership.

1985, 86, 87 Yearbooks Added

Motley Crue, Van Hagar, Back to the Future, Top Gun, parachute pants.  To play video games you either had to go to the arcade or find a buddy who had an Atari.  There were no cell phones, no internet, and few people had computers in their own homes.  The Weather Channel had just come into existence and everyone knew it was a dumb idea.  Who’d watch the weather 24 hours a day?  Do you remember your 80s?  If not, here’s a refresher course:  http://tlhs.twinlakes.k12.in.us/?page_id=15

Parent Teacher Conferences Dates Set

The 2009 Parent Teacher Conferences for Twin Lakes High School will be the following dates:

Monday, October 26, 2009 – 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM – Auxiliary Gym

Tuesday, October 27, 2009 – 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM – Auxilary Gym

If you cannot attend those dates but wish to meet with your child’s teachers, you may contact them via email (Contact your Teacher page) or call them at the school 583-7108.

Girls Golf Ties State Record with 12th Sectional Title in a Row

CONGRATULATIONS TO COACH AMY STEARNS & THE LADY INDIANS GOLF TEAM!!!!! 
 
SECTIONAL CHAMPIONS FOR A STATE-RECORD TYING 12 CONSECUTIVE YEARS!!!!!  Junior Grace Amsler was medalist (individual champion) with a score of 83.  Other team members were Senior Carly McLeland (3rd place with an 86), Junior Kendall Brennan (4th place with an 88), along with Seniors Alison Brown (105) and Shelby Horn (116).  Twin Lakes is now tied with Martinsville High School who previously held the record alone with a streak that started in 1990 and ended in 2001. 

Next Saturday, 9/26, the Lady Indians will compete in the LaPorte Regional.  They are working on another streak – currently six straight years of appearing in the State Finals.  They need to finish in the Top 3 to make it seven!  Good luck TEAM!!!
